Applied physicist building quantum computers.

I lead multiqubit test and characterization at HRL Laboratories, working with silicon spin qubits. Before that I built superconducting qubits in the Schoelkopf lab at Yale.

Multiqubit Test Methods Technical Lead 2022—present

  • Technical leadership of a multidisciplinary team focused on multiqubit QCVV & demonstrations
  • Responsible for technical input to the demonstration roadmap, managing execution, and keeping stakeholders apprised of progress and schedule (e.g. using Jira)
  • The test facet of the team is responsible for iterative requirements development, integration and validation of custom software, classical hardware, and quantum hardware, and collaboration with varied engineering teams
  • The analysis and modeling facet of the team focuses on model-hardware agreement and advanced QCVV, extracting error models, including space/time correlations, crosstalk effects, and emergent phenomena.

Group Lead VI–VII 2023—present

  • Personnel management of a test team with matrix-organization alignment to the Multiqubit Test Methods technical group (see above)
  • Responsibilities spanned recruiting, performance management, weekly one-on-ones
  • Regularly translated technical program needs and planning to corporate resources
  • Built a culture which prizes collaboration and documentation (e.g. in Confluence)

Scientist IV–VI 2017—2022

  • Creation and execution of novel measurement protocols for semiconductor quantum device physics, developing physical understanding to drive qubit error modeling
  • Modeling and design for ultra-low-noise, high-integrity electromagnetic environments for measurement and control of cryogenic quantum devices
  • Regular technical reporting and presentation—in team, programmatic, and public settings—and mentorship of new team members
  • Substantial software development (principally Python), using Gitlab and CI/CD
